David Rogers - Partner
Prior to founding Caledon, David was Senior Vice-President and team leader of the Ontario Municipal Employees Retirement System ("OMERS") Private Equity team from 2001 to 2006. David and his team were responsible for sourcing, structuring and negotiating private equity investments as well as building and managing an internationally diversified portfolio of private equity funds and co-investments. During David’s tenure, OMERS Private Equity investment assets grew from $300 million to $2.5 billion, with $4 billion in total private equity commitments, and built over 35 long-term relationships with top performing funds globally. In the "How the GPs Rate the LPs" 2007 survey conducted by Private Equity International, OMERS was ranked #5 in the category of "Top Global Public Pension Plans".
While at OMERS, David was a member of the Board of Directors of the parent company for Borealis Infrastructure, the entity which identifies, invests in and manages infrastructure assets on behalf of OMERS.
Prior to OMERS, David was Vice-President Investments with Working Ventures Canadian Fund Inc., a venture investment fund, and prior to that, Vice-President Finance and Chief Financial Officer of FirstService Corporation, a TSX and NASDAQ-listed public company.
David is a former board member of the Institutional Limited Partner Association ("ILPA") and is still active on one of its sub-committees. He is a member of the Canadian Venture Capital Association ("CVCA") Institutional Committee and a past director of the North American Venture Capital Summit.
David is a Chartered Accountant and Chartered Business Valuator, and received his MBA and HBA from the York University Schulich School of Business.
